An authentic taste of Capri

A beautiful country house facing the sea,
in one of the most enchanting corners of Anacapri.

A little lane winding through woods interspersed with tantalizing glimpses of the sea, leads holidaymakers to Anacapri's Il Grappolo: a charming, family-run B&B created in one of the island's old country homes, dating back to a time when Capri had yet to achieve its reputation as the glamorous playground of the rich and famous.

The name of the bed and breakfast (the bunch of grapes) was inspired by the grapevines which surround the house, and from which the owners obtain an excellent red wine. The whole area of the Migliera, were the B&B is located, was traditionally used for the cultivation of grapes and their subsequent transformation in wine.

The rooms

Il Grappolo has just 3 tastefully furnished bedrooms, equipped with mini-bar, television, air conditioning and Wi-Fi. All rooms have views of the sea and face out onto a large panoramic terrace: the B&B's much-loved signature feature. The terrace is the perfect spot in which to enjoy a leisurely aperitif, as the sun sets behind the neighboring island of Ischia, or in which to stay up until the early hours of the morning, chatting in the moonlight. The terrace also provides a charming open air breakfast room, where guests are treated to a delicious breakfast of fresh pastries and breads, jams, fruit juices and frothy cappuccino coffee each morning.

B&B Il Grappolo is located in Anacapri, along the path known as the "Migliera", which leads to the Belvedere del Tuono: a dramatic cliff edge viewing point, perched directly above the sea, and from where a magnificent view extending from the lighthouse on Punta Carena to the Faraglioni rocks can be seen. Close to the Belvedere, on the slopes of Monte Solaro, is the Philosophical Park which is strewn with tablets inscribed with citations of the greatest western philosophers. An invitation to contemplate the works of man, surrounded by one of the greatest works of nature: the Island of Capri.

In the heart of the countryside, the B&B nevertheless lies within easy reach of the center of Anacapri, from where you can take the chairlift to the summit of Monte Solaro, catch a bus to the Grotta Azzurra, visit the Museum House of Axel Munthe and the Church of San Michele, or make the trip to the lighthouse: one of the most important in the whole of the Mediterranean.
A short, ten minute walk away from the B&B, there is a bus stop from which buses to Capri and Marina Grande can be caught. For detailed information of how to reach Il Grappolo, download our Pdf guide.
